Today I am offering two of my original birch paintings for sale in my shop.
First, this original painting used for my Chronicle Books Flexi-Journal. It measures 30x15 inches. It is gouache and acrylic on canvas, and ready to hang. The canvas is 1.5 inches deep. Only two of these larger birch painting are in existence, and the first is sold. This is the only one available. It can be purchased here.
The second is this smaller 10x10 inch gouache painting on masonite. It has a bold pink/orange florescent background. It can be purchased here.

I had so much fun this past weekend at the SF Arts Commission Passport event. I stamped just short of 300 passports between the hours of 12-4 pm on Saturday, October 24 at the Curiosity Shoppe. I met so many nice people. Wilfredo sat on my lap and greeted everyone with me for the whole event! He's an angel.

That's not really Wilfredo's paw print, but the kids thought it was, and that's what really matters. (Photos by Clay Walsh).
There were 11 other artists at other locations throughout the Mission, and their stamps were so cool. I wish I could have gone on the walk myself. It looked like participants were having so much fun. Next year!

I have been getting a lot of inquiries about commissions, especially as it gets closer to the holiday season and gift-giving time! I do take commissions. I can do animals, landscapes, birch forests, collages (even with your own personal memorabilia), and portraits. Here are some portraits I did recently for a friend:

Hello Everyone,
This is Wilfredo.
Mom's been real busy lately. Sometimes I feel like a latchkey kid. All I know is she's not been home much and when we do leave the house it's usually to run errands and go to work at her studio. She takes me with her sometimes, and I love to ride in the car. I cry when she doesn't take me with her.
She's been painting lots of new pieces, like this Addax.
It's for her upcoming show with her friend Amy Ruppel. She'll tell you more about that show real soon.
Okay, it's time for my morning nap, so I have to be going.

Yesterday I was featured on the Etsy blog for the second time! The first time was when I joined Etsy two years ago in September of 2007.
This latest feature (by Christine of Iheartmustaches fame) features recommendations for Etsy finds that are the same as or similar to items I have in my home. Pretty cool!

Also October 23 and 24 I will be participating in an event for the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery. It's called Passport, and here's the skinny: purchase a $25 "passport" and on October 24 head to 12 different locations to have your passport "stamped" by 12 different San Francisco artists ("stamp" to be interpreted loosely). Meet the artists in person, get a book filled with amazing art. Here's a little more info (click on the card to see the card larger and read more about it).
